About the role:

Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an Actuary to join our Singapore Branch.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Price reinsurance treaties not limited to property, casualty and specialty lines within Asia Pacific and liaise with underwriters to support Singapore branch office

  • Collaborate with underwriters on technical assessments to provide opinions on pricing outcomes and decisions

  • Produce and communicate pricing memorandum appropriately aligned with internal guidelines to relevant stakeholders

  • Conduct lines of business studies, profitability reviews and ad-hoc modeling work relevant to business needs

  • Calibrate, review and update actuarial model assumptions and parameters to improve the relevance of pricing where necessary

  • Work closely with global actuarial teams on projects, model improvement and development related to reinsurance pricing

  • Provide guidance and training to junior colleagues on actuarial topics

  • Collaborate with other actuaries, underwriters, and management to ensure pricing consistency and adherence to best practices

  • Support other reinsurance pricing teams within Everest Re as needed

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or relevant field

  • Fellow or Associate Status with a recognized actuarial society

  • At least 6+ years of P&C reinsurance pricing experience

  • Experience in project work and tool development

  • Knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II and capital management is an advantage

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, programming skills is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage in constructive conversation and convey technical subjects to wider audience

  • Flexible and responsive to dynamic business needs including tight turnaround times

  • Ability to work independently but also a good team player

  • Attention to details, proactive, exhibit sound actuarial judgement and is able to meet deadlines effectively
