Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Property & Casualty Actuarial team. This role offers the opportunity to work across core actuarial functions including pricing, reserving, and portfolio analytics, while supporting data-informed decision-making that drives profitable growth.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with underwriting, finance, claims, and IT partners, contribute to actuarial studies and regulatory reporting, and play an active role in enhancing analytical tools, methodologies, and processes.

This position is ideal for an actuarial professional who enjoys solving complex business problems, working with data, and growing toward fellowship-level responsibilities or actuarial leadership.

What you will be doing

• Perform actuarial analyses related to pricing, reserving, forecasting, and profitability for Personal and/or Commercial Lines portfolios
• Develop, maintain, and enhance rating models, loss models, and experience studies using internal and external data
• Support quarterly and annual reserve reviews, including trend analysis and documentation of key assumptions
• Prepare actuarial exhibits and support management, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements
• Analyze loss experience, rate adequacy, and portfolio performance to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to support strategic and operational initiatives
• Assist with the development and automation of actuarial tools, dashboards, and reports to improve efficiency and insight
• Clearly communicate actuarial findings, limitations, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Gain leadership experience through peer reviews, coaching teammates, and contributing to team planning and prioritization

What you bring to the team

• Minimum of 4 years of work experience within the Property and Casualty insurance field
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related discipline
• Completion of at least five actuarial exams with demonstrated progress toward actuarial designation (ACAS or equivalent)
• Strong working knowledge of actuarial methods, loss modeling, credibility theory, and insurance fundamentals
• Proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical or programming tool such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, or VBA
• Experience working with large datasets and actuarial systems
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

How you will succeed

In your first year, the successful candidate will have developed a strong understanding of the company’s products, data, and actuarial frameworks, and will independently deliver high-quality pricing and/or reserving analyses. They will be a trusted partner to underwriting, finance, and claims, contribute reliably to actuarial cycles and regulatory deliverables, and add value through clear insights, sound judgment, and continuous improvement of actuarial processes.
