The Department of Human Services is seeking a Senior Activities Therapy Technician at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services in Sparks, NV for Dini-Townsend Hospital. This position is assigned support functions in the evaluation, therapeutic programming, clinical treatment, and assessment of patients receiving the services of the Therapeutic Recreational therapist. Duties include assisting in the implementation of the treatment plan according to the therapist’s specifications; instructing patients in the proper use of tools and equipment; providing for the procurement and maintenance of supplies and equipment; and providing direction and encouragement to patients. This position supports psychiatric treatment and recreational rehabilitation services for adults with serious mental illness (SMI). We improve quality of life through innovative programs and delivery systems. A successful candidate for this position will be organized, detail oriented, a strong communicator, and have strong personal boundaries and the ability to work flexible schedules.
Activity Therapy Technicians support the evaluation, therapeutic programming, clinical treatment, and assessment of patients receiving the services of a therapist.
Two or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.
