We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting a high-performing, national Accounts Payable function.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you'll manage a portfolio of supplier accounts while helping drive operational excellence across the AP team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned AP professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, mentoring others, and stepping into leadership responsibilities when required.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Accounts Payable Officer, you'll contribute to both the day-to-day success and ongoing development of the AP function by:
- Managing assigned supplier accounts and creditor ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Overseeing CAPEX-related supplier accounts and transactions, working collaboratively with our procurement team.
- Processing invoices and resolving rejections within agreed service levels and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the resolution of supplier, branch and stakeholder queries in a professional and timely manner
- Assisting with payment runs, month-end activities and audit requirements
- Supporting training and knowledge sharing across the team, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency, controls and user experience
- Promoting compliance with company policies, procurement practices and financial controls
- Acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex Accounts Payable matters
- Providing leadership support and deputising for the Accounts Payable Manager when required
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Proven Accounts Payable experience within a medium-to-large organisation
- Experience managing high-volume invoice processing in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, controls and compliance requirements
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A positive, resilient and collaborative approach to work
Desirable
- Previous leadership, mentoring or supervisory experience
- Formal qualifications in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- Experience working with ERP systems in a complex operational environment
