About the team

We are looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Poland. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in an international environment and wants to play a key role in maintaining high-quality accounting processes while partnering with colleagues across the wider business.

About the role

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting activities, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Syncron's Polish entity while collaborating with Finance colleagues and stakeholders across the global organisation.

You will take ownership of accounting processes, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support month-end and year-end close activities, and help ensure compliance with Polish accounting and tax requirements.

What would you do?

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Polish and other Syncron entities within scope, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and local regulations.

  • Prepare and post accounting entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Coordinate cooperation with external accounting offices and other external service providers.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

  • Prepare additional statutory and regulatory reports, including reports for local authorities such as NBP and GUS, where applicable.

Who you are? / What we expect:

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within an international organisation or shared services environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Polish accounting principles and statutory requirements.

  • Experience with Polish VAT and CIT requirements.

  • Practical experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Experience with intercompany accounting and transactions.

  • Experience working with external auditors and/or accounting advisors.

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.

The icing on the cake:

  • Experience working with an ERP/accounting system; experience with SAP, NetSuite or similar systems would be advantageous.

  • Experience with finance process automation or ERP implementations.

  • Familiarity with IFRS

  • Experience working with a Finance team operating across different countries and time zones.
