As the Head of General Ledger (GL), you will lead the global accounting function, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial data across multiple international legal entities. This role is key in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS). The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Accounting & Financial Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department (GL, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, payroll, etc.).
  • Oversee the General Ledger for all group entities
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Author and maintain definitive position papers on accounting treatments
  • Liaise with external auditors during group audit processes.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Drive process improvements and automation within the accounting functions.
  • Ensure accounting systems and processes scale with business growth.

Team Management & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and other departments for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Implement an empowered delegation framework, pushing operational tasks to the team to free up strategic bandwidth for process innovation.
  • Provide structured support and clear guidance to a growing international team, serving as a mentor for junior members and new hires.
  • Support CFO with ad hoc financial analysis and strategic initiatives.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Enthusiastic hands-on and can-do mentality
  • Strong team player able to work under stress.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in audit (Big 4 background is a plus).
  • Knowledge of tax implications and transfer pricing.
  • Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, including group consolidation. 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management of global teams in multi-entity organisations 
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and consolidation principles.
  • Experience in a multinational or group structure is a plus.
