Job Description

Title: Senior Accounting Analyst

Location: Dunstable (Hybrid Working)

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our team and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their technical accounting expertise while partnering with stakeholders across the business and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you'll be responsible for managing complex areas of the accounting and reporting process, ensuring robust financial control and high-quality financial information.

What you'll do

  • Driving month-end activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting of key P&L areas.
  • Preparing and reviewing complex month-end journals.
  • Providing detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary to stakeholders.
  • Supporting month-end reviews with a strong understanding of operational performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Whitbread's Financial Control Framework.
  • Completing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and resolving reconciling items.
  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements.

What you'll need

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong understanding of key financial processes, including:
  • Month-end reporting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Year-end activities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Financial controls
  • Previous experience in month-end reporting and financial control environments.
  • Strong Excel and systems skills.
  • Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders at different levels of the business.
