
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, SAN JOSE, CA
Responsibilities:
Prepare 754 step up depreciation calculations. Calculating book, Fed and state differences on M1 M3 adjustment. Prepare international reporting forms such as 5471, high tax election and
Section 962 election. Prepared and reviewed the 990 preparations. Business development with the potential new client. Participates in planning and analysis for the tax clients. Directs and
instructs assistants, where applicable, in work to be performed and reviewed for 1099 filing. Individual tax meeting with clients. Supervising and assisting the intern and staff level
accountants. Prepare partnership, S-corp, C-corp and individual tax returns. Book adjustments. Suggest and improve the working procedure changes to supervisor, manager, or Partner
and discuss the team work efficiency. Prepares routine correspondence to client for approval and signature of a Partner, writes comments for management letters. Prepare the UBIA assets
schedule and the depreciation schedule. Proactively takes ownership of projects, seeing them through to ultimate completion & delivery to client.
Qualifications: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A BACHELOR'S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, OR A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD PLUS 2 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN JOB OFFERED OR RELATED.
Special Requirements:
EXPERTISE/ KNOWLEDGE OF:
1. Experience in preparing individual tax returns for clients.
2. Experience filing corporate tax returns for LLC, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, and Nonprofits.
3. Experience in preparing expats’ foreign tax credits and forms, including 2555, 1116, FBAR, 5471.
4. Bookkeeping.
5. Knowledge in preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries.
6. Knowledge of analysis of annual and quarterly financial statements.
7. Experience in financial planning.
8. Experience with conducting IRS audit support.
9. Experience in researching tax laws and regulations.
10. Experience in advising clients on complex tax matters.
MUST POSSESS EXPERTISE/ KNOWLEDGE SUFFICIENT TO ADEQUATELY PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB BEING OFFERED. EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE MAY BE GAINED THROUGH EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE OR EDUCATION. SUCH EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE CANNOT BE QUANTIFIED BY TIME.
Salary: $83,429 - $98,000 per year
