The role

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. This role supports the Finance leadership team in maintaining timely and reliable reporting across revenue, costs, operating expenses, capital, and tax-related activities, while helping ensure effective internal controls are in place.

You will assist in leading the monthly and annual close processes, prepare regular financial reports, and provide guidance to junior team members on accounting and auditing matters. The role will also contribute to key initiatives across the business, offering financial insights and supporting efforts to improve operational efficiency.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in line with GAAP and company policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting tasks, including documentation, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank transactions, payment channels, and accounting records to ensure accuracy.
  • Review supplier invoices against purchase orders, manage payments, and issue remittance advice.
  • Prepare tax filings, assist with annual audits, and liaise with relevant tax authorities when required.
  • Develop financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget consolidations to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members and support cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving financial processes and operational efficiency.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in retail, e-commerce, or fast-paced environments, with exposure to AU, US, NZ, or HK markets.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and advanced Excel.
  • Experienced in month-end/year-end closes, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and drive process improvements with professionalism and integrity.

If this sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to hear from you!
