About the Company

A fast-growing startup in the alternative asset space is building infrastructure to support real-time pricing and a rapidly scaling marketplace. Backed by top investors and industry leaders, the company is expanding its finance function to support growth.

The Senior Accountant will lead core accounting processes end-to-end, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and scalable financial operations. This role requires strong independence and collaboration across Operations, Lending, and Leadership teams.

This is a fully remote position within the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process, delivering first-pass financials within five business days.

• Perform reconciliations for cash, custodial wallets, seller payouts, payment processors, AR, AP, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.

• Oversee revenue and COGS recognition across multiple transaction types.

• Manage spend processes, including corporate cards, AP, vendor onboarding, invoice approvals, and accruals.

• Deliver weekly financial commentary and trend reporting; prepare month-end reporting packs with P&L, balance sheet, and cash analysis.

• Serve as primary liaison for auditors and tax partners, managing calendars, audits, and compliance documentation.

• Strengthen accounting policies, close checklists, reconciliations, and controls for scale.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• 4–7 years of experience in public accounting and/or startup environments.

• Hands-on ownership of the monthly close process in a lean or high-growth setting.

• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge.

• Reconciliation expertise across core balance sheet accounts.

• Spend management experience (Ramp or similar tools).

• Proven track record managing auditor and tax partner relationships.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Stripe, banking portals, and productivity tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Slack).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience in marketplace startups (50–200 employees).

• Exposure to lending accounting and debt facility reporting.

• Workflow automation and process improvement skills.

Compensation & Schedule

• Base Salary: $100K–$120K

• Equity: Competitive

• Schedule: Full-time, flexible hours
