This Senior Accountant opportunity is designed for an experienced accounting professional ready to operate beyond routine transactional work and take meaningful ownership of the financial close. Our client is a long-established, privately held manufacturing organization strengthening its accounting infrastructure and creating greater capacity at the Controller level.

In this role, you will…

• Own key components of the month-end close, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package.
• Prepare monthly financial statements across related entities and provide fluctuation and financial statement analysis that helps leadership understand business performance.
• Manage multi-entity accounting activity, including intercompany accounts, fixed assets, depreciation schedules, cash activity, and assigned general ledger balances.
• Strengthen financial controls and reporting accuracy by identifying discrepancies, improving reconciliations, and bringing greater structure to accounting processes that remain manual today.
• Support treasury and banking requirements, including daily cash positions, cash-flow planning activities, loan interest schedules, and monthly borrowing-base reporting.
• Support external audits and compliance requirements by preparing audit schedules, assisting with fieldwork, and preparing multi-state sales tax returns.
• Contribute to forecasting, analysis, and process improvement, using historical and current financial information to support projections while identifying opportunities to make the accounting function more efficient and scalable.

What we’re looking for

• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with the ability to work beyond transactional accounting and through the financial statement close process.
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Solid Excel capability, including experience with tools such as PivotTables, lookup formulas, IF statements, conditional formatting, and data-cleaning functions.
• Experience working within an ERP environment; Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is not required (preferred).
• A proactive approach to accounting—you can identify what needs attention, work through issues, and reduce the amount of detailed accounting work sitting with senior finance leadership.
