The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a nonprofit
organization dedicated to providing compassionate hospice care, Meals on
Wheels, and community-based services throughout North Texas. We are seeking an
experienced Senior Accountant to support accounting operations in Dallas, TX.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will
play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account
reconciliations, audit preparation, nonprofit and grant accounting, regulatory
compliance, internal controls, process improvements, and financial system
enhancements while partnering with departments across the organization.

What You'll Do

Manage
monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal
entries, accruals, and supporting schedules

Prepare
and analyze monthly financial statements and investigate and resolve
financial variances

Ensure
the accuracy of balance sheet and income statement accounts through timely
reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and reconciliation of subledgers
to the general ledger

Prepare
audit schedules and supporting documentation, work with external auditors
during annual audits, and assist with implementing audit recommendations
-
Perform
account reconciliations, ensure proper coding, and support period-end
close

Ensure
compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, donor restrictions,
internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

Analyze
financial activity, identify trends, errors, and unusual transactions,
research GAAP guidance, and recommend accounting solutions to management

Support
Form 990, Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, and regulatory filings

Monitor
adherence and escalate exceptions as needed

Identify
and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and
workflows

Document
and maintain accounting procedures and process documentation

Maintain
proficiency with the organization's ERP, Microsoft Business Central, and
other financial systems

Support
reporting and budgeting tools, participate in system enhancements,
testing, and implementations, and collaborate with departments to resolve
accounting and coding issues

Provide
guidance on accounting processes, the chart of accounts, and expense
allocations

Provide
backup support for accounts payable and other accounting functions as
needed

Uphold
and promote the agency's mission, values, and policies

Perform
other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor's
degree in Accounting preferred, CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
-
3–5
years of progressive accounting experience
-
Nonprofit
or healthcare accounting experience preferred
-
Experience
with month-end close, account reconciliations, audit preparation, and
financial reporting

Experience
with ERP systems; Microsoft Business Central preferred
Skills & Qualifications

Strong
knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and donor restrictions

Advanced
Microsoft Excel skills

Strong
analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills

Excellent
written and verbal communication skills in English

to detail & Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability
to work independently and meet deadlines, including extended hours during
month-end close or audits

Ability
to work in a hybrid office/remote environment with prolonged computer and
phone use
