About The Role

This position will primarily focus on the accounting for segment finance activities, primarily revenue recognition for segments. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with revenue recognition, reporting, and controls. This person will report to the NACA Supervisor and interact with segment finance leads for revenue recognition.

What You’ll Do

Monthly Accounting Close

Revenue Recognition:

  • Review sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Analyze and understand the practices within the segment to ensure proper revenue recognition and setup in the system.
  • Prepare revenue journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Calculate revenue reserves and document reserve assessment under ASC 606.
  • Prepare and analyze revenue related reports.
  • Document revenue-related policies and procedures.
  • Assess and document collectability risk due to aging WIP and AR.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly expense fluctuations
  • Identify process issues and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Support and improve month, quarter, and year-end close processes, reporting, and audits.
  • Prepare and post other monthly journal entries including bad debt expense and ad hoc entries.
  • Maintain journal entry tracker and ensure all journal entries are supported with strong documentation and required approvals.
  • Support other special projects and non-recurring tasks as directed by the North America Core Accounting Senior Manager.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant accounting experience or Big Four experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required; Ability to organize and analyze a large volume of data.
  • Strong and practical working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Working knowledge of general ledger and other accounting/reporting systems.
  • Ability to travel FTI office(s) when needed
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Highly detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and self-motivation to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed.
  • Proven ability to work as a team and customer service focused.
  • Experience working with both domestic and international operating units preferred.
  • Experience working in ERP environment preferred.

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $87,500
Maximum Pay: $145,500

Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
