As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in driving the financial health of a diverse portfolio of Marriott and Hilton-branded hotels.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for an assigned hotel portfolio — from monthly close to financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure timely period-end close (month, quarter, and year-end).
- Handle critical journal entries: depreciation, payroll, healthcare, 401(k), management fees, tax reserves, and accruals.
- Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and FF&E reserves — ensuring compliance with operating and loan agreements.
- Manage Marriott royalty accruals, franchise invoicing, and sales tax filings.
- Partner with the CFO and Senior Accounting Manager on budgets, forecasts, strategic planning, and investor reporting.
- Support hotel General Managers and Operations leaders by providing financial insights, training, and solutions.
- Assist with construction project accounting, including loan draws and capital improvement tracking.
- Prepare investor reports and manage quarterly cash distributions to ownership groups.
- Manage, mentor, and coach junior team members while fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience — hospitality industry or public accounting a plus
- CPA certification (completed or in progress highly preferred)
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable interpreting contracts, loan documents, and financial agreements
- Proficient in Excel, Teams, Outlook, and financial systems (Sage, M3, Paycom — or willing to learn)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with Operations, Executives, and external partners
- Valid driver’s license for occasional business travel
