Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

Los Angeles, CA | On-site Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, corporate policies and external audits. The senior will assist in the monthly closing process and issuance of the financial statements along with technical accounting research and automation initiatives. The seniors will also assist in ad-hoc projects and improving efficiency and internal controls.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & LICENSES

  • Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP for monthly and year-end reporting.
  • Assist in the external audit and coordinate with the teams to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and related financial reporting activities.
  • Support on intercompany transactions, consolidations, financial statement presentation, and disclosure requirements.
  • Analyze financial statement results, identify trends and significant fluctuations, and explain key variances.
  • Support technical accounting initiatives, researching accounting guidance and new accounting standards to determine potential impact on current accounting treatment and prepare memos documenting the research and conclusions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business activities and recommend accounting appropriate accounting treatments in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency through automation, AI-enabled tools, and other emerging technologies.
  • Support the development and implementation of automated reporting and analytical solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis as determined by internal management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • 3+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus but not required
  • Public accounting and/or financial reporting experience preferred.
  • Excel Word, Access and PowerPoint required
  • Knowledge of SQL/Snowflake and/or Microsoft VB/Macros a plus
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial information.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees, management, and external partners to maximize performance, problem solving and results.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and lead automation initiatives.

What’s the expected pay for this role?

  • $90,000 - $115,000 per year
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
