Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

Department: Accounting & Finance

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Pune

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a key role in delivering high quality financial accounting across the Group, with a strong focus on the application of IFRS The role supports the Group’s statutory reporting, consolidation processes, acquisition accounting, and ongoing enhancement of financial control and reporting accuracy The position requires excellent technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic, fast paced environment

Key Responsibilities

IFRS Accounting & Technical Support
  • Maintain and update the IFRS 16 lease accounting model, working closely with the Estates team and FP&A.
  • Support and maintain IFRS 15 revenue recognition workings.
  • Prepare Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models annually, including review and assessment of outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new or updated IFRS standards, ensuring appropriate implementation across the Group.
  • Prepare and update the trial balance for each IFRS entity for the consolidation.
Acquisition Accounting
  • Assess each new acquisition for IFRS conversion requirements and support onboarding into the Group.
  • Assist in the Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) process, including liaison with external valuation specialists.
  • Support the integration of acquisition financials into the Group consolidation system
Group Reporting & Consolidation
  • Contribute to the preparation of the monthly consolidated balance sheet and cash flow statements, demonstrating a strong understanding of consolidation principles and system functionality.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance in all aspects of statutory and management reporting.
  • Assistance in Planful consolidation model project.
Ad Hoc and Cross Functional Support
  • Provide technical support and analysis to the Director of Group Finance and the wider Finance function.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting quality, system efficiency, and process robustness.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 5–7 years of relevant post qualification industry experience
  • Previously worked in Group Consolidation, Reporting & Technical accounting
  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Passionate for Technical Accounting
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, with proven hands-on experience applying IFRS standards
  • Proven experience in group statutory accounts preparation, monthly management accounts, and large consolidations
  • Prior exposure to acquisition accounting and integration processes
  • Ability to interpret and manage financial information across multiple companies and business units.
  • Proactive, curious, and committed to improving processes and delivering high quality output.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
  • High level of IT literacy, including strong Excel skills (including Power Query); experience with Planful is an advantage.
  • Demonstrates personal pride, professionalism, and accountability
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, process, and systems. Good working knowledge and experience of ERP’s
