Your contribution!

Reporting to the Director of Financial Project Control, you will be part of the Financial Project Control team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for developing and implementing accounting processes for project accounting. The Senior Accountant is responsible for recording transactions and presenting monthly budget updates to project managers. Additionally, they are responsible for preparing quarterly reports for senior management. The Senior Accountant is accountable for ensuring the smooth execution of the accounting processes related to his or her duties.

Your day-to-day!

  • Develop and implement accounting processes related to project accounting
  • Oversee and participate in all activities related to the project accounting module in the enterprise resource planning system, from the opening to the closing of accounting periods
  • Make the necessary adjustments to ensure reconciliation with the general ledger
  • Prepare financial statements for projects
  • Present monthly budget updates to project managers
  • Prepare quarterly financial presentations for senior management
  • Supervise the work of junior accountants and team accountants as needed
  • Participate in initiatives to continuously improve the project information centralization platform
  • Monitor procurement activities and payments to ensure timely processing
  • Coordinate the automation and efficiency improvements of the project accounting module in collaboration with the IT team
  • Prepare the sections related to project accounting for audits
  • Prepare the information required by the tax team
  • Establish and maintain rigorous internal controls
  • Develop, improve, and maintain internal processes as well as monthly and quarterly reports
  • Participate in various special assignments as needed

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA Professional Designation
  • Accounting experience within a multi-entity, multi-project organization
  • Experience managing multiple currencies is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Excellent skills with financial systems and tools
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion, OneStream, and Power BI is a significant asset

  • Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) is required to facilitate ongoing collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec

  • The position is based at the company's head office in Longueuil, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station

  • This position is a P3 level
