What The Role Entails

The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for our various corporate development entities located in Europe including but not limited to Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Luxembourg from our brand new EMEA corporate office in Offenbach, Frankfurt. In addition, the Senior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities over data center entities with commercial operations. Along with the Executive Team, the Controller, and Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for protecting company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

What You Get to Do

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Performing account variance analysis and reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements including the associated work packages
  • Review invoices for proper coding and prepare for payment
  • Reconcile and review all cross-company transactions and prepare invoices as required
  • Preparing monthly drawdown packages for submission to lenders - Assisting in due diligence on equity investment deals
  • Compilation of financial data and other audit requirements
  • Assist with other accounting projects as required
  • Travel to locations, customer meetings, training courses or conferences as desired and required
  • Support VAT return preparation in conjunction with indirect tax team
  • Supervision and training of young professionals in accounting


Requirements

What You Bring to The Role

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
  • The individual will have at least five to ten years’ experience in organizations where significant growth was achieved
  • This role requires an intimate functional knowledge of corporate operations and extraordinary financial and cash management skills
  • Ability to train and motivate other colleagues
  • Ability to complement and advise senior management at all levels
  • Experience in creating and sustaining a culture of success through hands-on problem-solving
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Strong US GAAP and IFRS knowledge preferred
  • Consolidation preparation including FX accounting experience preferred
  • Cash flow preparation experience preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks on time or ahead of schedule while maintaining accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Communication skills that allow effective relationships with all levels of employee constituents and external constituents
  • Experience with companies that value customer service
  • Task oriented, results driven, and capable of multi-tasking in a very intense environment
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office applications
  • Experience with Yardi or similar software experience is preferred
  • Experience with real estate preferred
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent work ethic and desire to “do what it takes to get it done right the first time”
  • A strong desire to constantly seek ways to drive organizational improvement
  • Must be fluent in German and English. French or Italian is a plus

Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess

  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting
  • CPA, CMA, Chartered Accountant (UK), Wirtschaftprüfer (Germany), Steuerberater (Germany), and/or Expert-comptable (France) preferred
  • At least two (2) years of professional accounting experience
