Reports To: Accounting Manager / Director of Accounting
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounting operations for multiple client entities within the firm's Client Accounting Services (CAS) practice. This role leads the month-end close process, reviews work performed by junior staff, prepares financial statements, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, experience in outsourced or public accounting environments, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial records
Oversee and review work performed by Accountants and Bookkeepers
Ensure compliance with internal accounting standards
Lead monthly and quarterly close processes
Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including:
Balance Sheet
Profit & Loss
Cash Flow Reports
Support onboarding of new clients and review historical financial data
Lead clean-up and reconciliation of historical financial records
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Support implementation of accounting systems and automation tools
Support tax preparation and audit requirements
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – REQUIRED
4–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in:
Outsourced accounting services
Public accounting
Accounting services firms
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience handling multiple client entities or sets of books
Experience in Client Accounting Services (CAS)
Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
Familiarity with accounting automation tools and integrated systems
Strong technical accounting expertise
