Ace is seeking a Full-Time, Senior Accountant for its Headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa. This position reports to the Assistant Controller. Ace thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced, can-do environment. To be successful in this role you must have a sense of urgency, be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment, be a highly organized self-starter and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices and requisitions prepared by the Staff Accountant for proper documentation and approval prior to payment
• Ensure expenses are reported to the appropriate accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and expense reports
• Review monthly accruals to ensure alignment with the budget and proper financial reporting
• Review intercompany expenses between entities
• Review month-end deposit activity in the operations account as prepared by the Staff Accountant
• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
• Provide explanations of variance analysis across profit & loss and balance sheet accounts
• Assist in the annual audit by preparing assigned reports and providing documentation as directed by the Controller
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements of the Senior Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to solve problems effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate, explain, and resolve variances across profit & loss and balance sheet accounts
• Ability to mentor, train, and provide guidance to the Staff Accountant
• Flexibility to adjust job duties as needed to support month-end preparation and provide additional assistance to the Assistant Controller and Staff Accountant
• Experience with accounting software such as Business Central, Sage Intacct, or Workday preferred
