Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on and independent Accountant to oversee the company's full spectrum of accounting and finance functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full sets of accounts, GST and tax compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical accounting knowledge, be familiar with accounting software and have the ability to recommend, implement and improve accounting systems and processes to support the company's business operations and future growth. Key Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Financial Management • Handle the full spectrum of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and month-end/year-end closing. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS). • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports. • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules and intercompany reconciliations where applicable. • Monitor the company's financial performance and ensure proper internal controls and accounting procedures. 2. Accounting Software & System Implementation • Evaluate existing accounting systems and recommend suitable accounting software to meet the company's operational and financial requirements. • Lead or coordinate the implementation of accounting software, including system setup, data migration and process integration. • Establish and improve accounting workflows, internal controls and reporting procedures. • Ensure effective utilisation of accounting systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. 3. Financial Planning & Analysis • Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and periodic budget reviews. • Monitor and analyse revenue, costs, expenses and profitability. • Prepare cashflow forecasts and monitor the company's cash position. • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to support business decisions. • Identify opportunities for cost control, operational efficiency and improved financial performance. 4. GST & Tax Compliance • Prepare, compute and submit quarterly GST returns to IRAS. • Ensure compliance with Singapore GST regulations and tax requirements. • Handle corporate income tax computations, tax filings and liaise with external tax agents where necessary. • Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports. 5. General Finance & Administrative Support • Work independently to manage the company's day-to-day finance and accounting operations. • Support management with financial information, reports and other ad-hoc assignments as required. Requirements & Qualifications • Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline. • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent will be an advantage. • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the trading, building materials, construction or distribution industry. • Strong hands-on experience in managing full sets of accounts. • Good knowledge of Singapore GST regulations and corporate tax requirements. • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management. • Familiar with accounting software and preferably experienced in recommending, selecting and implementing accounting systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools. • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities. • Meticulous, analytical and results-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills. • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with management and external parties. Working hours: Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm
