At APM, we empower people to realise their potential. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a trusted finance partner, providing commercial insights, delivering accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making across a portfolio of business units.

This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, improving processes, and influencing positive business outcomes beyond the month-end cycle.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and review month-end journals, reconciliations, and management reports
  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support business performance
  • Partner with business leaders and act as a key finance contact across your portfolio
  • Investigate financial issues, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions
  • Support system improvements, finance transformation initiatives, and business acquisitions
  • Assist with audit requirements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Work closely with the Group Tax team on payroll tax, GST, FBT, and income tax reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen controls, and enhance finance processes
  • Mentor and support junior team members within the finance team

About You

  • CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years' experience in accounting, ideally combining corporate and public practice experience
  • Strong financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting capabilities
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP highly regarded)
  • Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
  • Experience contributing to process improvements, system implementations, or transformation projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a changing environment
