Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will independently manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while owning key components of the month-end and year-end close process. The ideal candidate has a strong command of accounting principles and regulations, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently while providing guidance to junior accounting staff.

Responsibilities:

· Own and review journal entries in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness

· Lead monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving complex discrepancies

· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

· Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations and recommendations to management

· Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned properties or business units

· Prepare and organize documentation for external audits, and serve as a point of contact for auditors

· Provide technical accounting guidance and review work performed by Staff Accountants

· Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls

· Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, particularly for escalated or complex items

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA strongly preferred

· Solid experience in property management / residential / hotel business is a plus – Hotel Experience is priority

· Strong technical knowledge of bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and other account reconciliations

· Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and / or Accounts Payable

· Preferably 5 to 8+ years of relevant accounting experience

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with [specific software] is a plus)

· Hands-on experience owning end to end accounting, from journal entries through month end close and preparation of financial reports

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations, with the judgment to apply them independently

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively across multiple properties or business units

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior staff

· Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment
