Duties include preparing and reviewing bank and general ledger account reconciliations; overseeing utility billing accounting activities; processing and reviewing permit and other City refunds; researching and resolving account discrepancies; preparing financial reports; assisting with month-end and year-end close, external audits and the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR); responding to audit requests and supervising assigned accounting staff; and other duties as assigned. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible accounting experience is required. Relevant municipal or governmental accounting experience may substitute for the education requirement. Three years of accounting experience, including account and/or bank reconciliation experience, is required. Supervisory or lead experience and municipal accounting experience are preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including experience analyzing and reconciling financial data; and experience using financial or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems required.
