We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Sumner, Queensland. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

WHERE YOU’LL BE BASED

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax return preparation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a mid-senior role.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
