Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, supporting technical accounting research, and partnering closely with FP&A, audit, and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including supporting schedules and footnote disclosures
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepaid analysis as part of the month-end and year-end close process
• Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and management reporting
• Support external audit requests by preparing audit schedules, workpapers, and documentation, and serving as a key point of contact for auditors
• Research and document technical accounting issues under current ASC guidance
• Assist with SEC reporting requirements, including 10-K and 10-Q filings, if applicable to the organization
• Maintain and improve internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial data
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to streamline close and reporting cycles
• Mentor and review the work of Staff Accountants as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting/audit background strongly preferred
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience with SEC reporting and SOX compliance a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS); experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Attributes

• Big 4 or national/regional public accounting firm experience
• Experience in [industry, e.g., real estate, financial services, wealth management] a plus
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and process improvement
