Job Description

Starting base salary $80,000 - $95,000

Plus Bonus, Equity & Benefits

How you will make an impact

We're looking for a US-based Staff Accountant (Eastern Time) to join our global accounting team. This role will contribute to day-to-day accounting operations, monthly financial close activities, and our annual audit. The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller but work closely with all team members to be mentored and trained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the monthly financial close by preparing journal entries and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations for multiple subsidiaries
  • Reconcile bank accounts weekly
  • Prepare banking transfers and wire payments through secure bank logins for banking institutions in varying countries and currencies
  • Apply customer payments timely
  • Reconcile monthly credit card transactions to supporting documentation
  • Support expense management platform, Expensify
  • Assist with bi-monthly payroll reconciliations and journal entries
  • Support preparation of audit workpaper and footnote files for interim and annual audit work
  • Assist with Accounts Payable processing and vendor outreach as needed
  • Assist with tax compliance requests as needed
  • Train on and explore ways to integrate and optimize use of AI platforms in the accounting function
  • Contribute to finance projects, system integrations and process improvements on an ongoing basis

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required with proven experience following US GAAP - CPA preferred
  • Highly capable in using Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze data including use of pivot tables and common accounting formulas
  • Experience using Netsuite is highly preferred - experience with Google Sheets, UKG Pro or Tipalti is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with clear attention to detail and responsiveness including the ability to research and provide detailed variance analysis as requested
  • Systematic mindset to identify and recommend process improvements as you see fit
  • Excellent communicator, including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Highly disciplined and leads by example with respect to the standard of output, prioritization, follow-through and the meeting of deadlines
  • Experience supporting audits, from either the auditor or corporate accounting perspective
  • Experience in a complex multi-currency environment – consolidation, and management of international subsidiaries is a plus
  • Experience with reporting requirements of Canadian and European tax entities is a plus
