MAIN PURPOSE

The main purpose of this position is to manage tasks related to retail AR accounting, retail projects, and BTQ monitoring, as well as leading BTQ operations to align with group policies and compliance. This role requires close collaboration with BTQ staff, Internal Control, IT, and other accounting professionals. The successful candidate is expected to be a professional who is not only an accountant but also an executor capable of making the BTQ's needs a reality. This role is an integral part of the broader Richemont finance community, and the incumbent is expected to be a true business partner for BTQ operations, demonstrating a professional compliance mindset and a problem-solving attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key Responsibility 1: Retail AR
    • Perform accounts receivable reconciliations.
    • Process cash applications and investigate outstanding items.
    • Manage department store sales and payment reconciliation.
    • Process customer refunds.
    • Review department store commissions and deductions.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • Respond to inquiries from boutiques and stakeholders.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
    • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Key Responsibility 2: Compliance & Operational Oversight
    • Implement group rules and guidelines for BTQs.
    • Prepare operations manuals for BTQs.
    • Support new BTQ openings (e.g., credit card terminal setup, VAT-free application, staff training).
    • Support new business and process developments and scheme implementation.
  • Key Responsibility 3: Projects
    • Introduce new payment solutions to BTQs.
    • Implement paperless processes and digitalization initiatives.
    • Drive process simplification and productivity improvements.
    • Manage system integration and upgrades.
    • Act as the local project lead for global projects.

PROFILES:

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting and/or controlling experience.
  • Retail experience is a strong plus.

Skills:

  • Attention to detail, proactive and solution-oriented approach, delivering timely and high-quality results.
  • Strong team player with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • General accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems, with the ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Nissho Boki Level 2 or higher is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP / Oracle systems is preferred.
