Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. Dometic has won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards over the years, and we are always striving for new ways to make boating easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

Dometic Marine’s facility in Sparta, TN produces roto-molded fuel and ballast tanks and other roto-molded products for industrial applications. The site also manufactures select marine furniture, aluminum tanks, blow-molded portable tanks, and sanitation systems.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Senior Accountant This position reports to the Controller and will work in Sparta, TN.

About the position

As Senior Accountant of the Sparta team, you will be involved in a variety of finance-related tasks including but not limited to preparing and maintaining accounting records, payroll reporting, journal entries, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and various internal and external reporting and analysis.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Process payroll reports and serve as HR backup during planned absences.
  • Submit required monthly internal and external reporting.
  • Maintain financial performance tracking reports including sales, margin, and PPV.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Present financial statement records as necessary.
  • Assist with internal controls and process efficiency improvements.
  • Search for cost reductions and financial System errors to correct.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within manufacturing and accounting as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance.
  • 2+ years of related position experience within manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • 2+ years’ experience with payroll administration and general ledger activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, etc.)
  • ERP and Accounting Systems experience.
