We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to take full ownership of statutory accounting and tax compliance in Uzbekistan. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting, payroll, tax, and statutory reporting in line with local legislation and company policies. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting audits, managing relationships with tax authorities and other external stakeholders, and ensuring the company remains fully compliant with local regulatory requirements.The position requires a hands-on accounting professional with strong knowledge of local GAAP, tax legislation, payroll processes, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly responsible, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and management. Experience in multinational environments and confidence working with 1C, Excel, and electronic reporting systems will be a strong advantage.

Minimum 5 years of total accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Chief Accountant position. Full responsibility for statutory and tax accounting across all accounting areas, including fixed assets, inventory, services, settlements with counterparties, bank and cash operations, and primary documentation. Strong knowledge of Uzbekistan legislation in accounting, taxation, currency regulation, and statutory reporting. Proven experience preparing and submitting financial, tax, statistical, and regulator-facing reports. Strong payroll administration capability for local employees, expatriates, and civil law contracts. Practical experience in VAT and corporate income tax, export and import of services, and interactions with tax authorities, banks, auditors, and inspections. Experience leading or supporting finance transformation, controls stabilization, or IFRS alignment is strongly preferred.

Experience working in a multinational company is a strong advantage. Hands-on exposure to finance transformation, process migration, or outsourcing readiness is highly desirable. In-depth knowledge and practical experience with VAT taxation systems, external and internal audits, and transactions with non-residents are required.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Higher education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in: accounting, finance or economics. Additional professional certifications or courses (ACCA, DipIFR, CAP/CIPA, etc.) are an advantage.

Language Requirements:

Russian — fluent (mandatory). English — minimum B2 level, including business correspondence, contracts, and communication with foreign counterparties.

HSE Capability:

Medium — understanding and compliance with occupational health and safety standards, company internal policies, and procedures.

IT Skills:

MS Office — advanced user: Excel (formulas, pivot tables), Word, Outlook and 1C: Accounting v.8.3 — confident user (statutory accounting). Experience working with electronic reporting systems (tax portals, electronic invoices).

People Skills:

High level of responsibility and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with management and internal departments. Team player, able to effectively manage and collaborate with the accounting team and other functions. Stress resilience and ability to work under tight deadlines.
