Conducts complex and critical financial studies and analyses for the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports. Responsible for the compilation of annual budgets and collecting pertinent information for third party audits. Maintains general accounting records for entities of responsibility and acts as the first point of contact for accounting issues for the assigned business entity/book of business
Job Responsibility
•Prepares and reviews monthly fiscal reports and all supporting schedules to reflect financial status of assigned business entities in a timely manner
•Develops working relationships with operations team members and creates an open line of communication and support between the finance and operations teams
•Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
•Maintains detailed monthly, quarterly, or annual reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy of the general ledger
•Performs monthly reconciliations of bank balances to the general ledger cash accounts, recording adjustments as necessary
•Assists in determining the adequacy of inpatient and outpatient reserves for doubtful accounts
•Validates, analyzes, and organizes data to report on variances between actual and budgeted financial results for complex business entities
•Assists in annual budget process. Coordinates the compilation of the annual budget (and related package) and assists with the reconciliation of its components to ensure completeness
•Maintains integrity of accounting records by reviewing, investigating, and correcting errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
•Acquires in-depth knowledge of accounting software system to provide instruction and direction to co-workers to facilitate implementation of proper procedures.
•Applies general accepted accounting principles in the maintenance of the General Accounting system of the organization
•Assists in system-wide financial analyses and projects as assigned
•Prepares and compiles required documentation for external auditors. Also provides assistance to any audits by government agencies related to their specific areas of responsibility
•Collaborates with Management to collect financial and operational data for organization wide analyses
•Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors
•Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach and completion of own tasks/responsibilities of substantial complexity
•Work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
•Normally receives minimal instruction on day-to-day work, general instruction on new assignments. Often determines methods/approach to work/projects and establishes own work priorities and timelines
•Some functional supervision of duties and tasks for Accountants and Leads Accountants and other support staff
•Develops and modifies department processes to meet specialized needs

Job Qualification
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent, required
•3-5 years of related accounting experience, required
•Advanced proficiency in Excel, required
