Senior Accountant

Reports to: Controller

Base Salary: $130,000-$150,000

We are a private equity-backed, globally operating company seeking a Senior Accountant to help drive the core accounting operations of the business. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple international entities

The Senior Accountant will own the end-to-end close process, maintain robust accounting controls, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. While this role does not have direct reports, it requires strong collaboration with accounting peers and cross-functional stakeholders across regions to ensure alignment, accountability, and high-quality deliverables.

As a key member of the finance team, you will ensure compliance with statutory and group reporting requirements in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, private equity-backed environment, exercising sound judgment, technical expertise, and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Close Management

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Oversee global general ledger activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and key close deliverables.
  • Maintain accounting policies aligned with IFRS and company standards.
  • Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal financial reporting.

Core Accounting Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Payroll accounting
  • Fixed assets
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Ad hoc projects and finance leadership decision-making support/analysis
  • Ensure proper accounting for deferred revenue and IFRS 15-related entries in coordination with revenue operations.
  • Monitor and improve close workflows and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Support external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Assist with international statutory audit requirements and local compliance.
  • Ensure accounting practices align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Help manage and optimize financial systems and accounting processes.
  • Partner with finance leadership on improvements in NetSuite and related systems.
  • Implement scalable accounting processes to support company growth.
  • Improve reporting, reconciliations, and automation across the accounting function.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with FP&A, operations, and business leaders to ensure alignment between accounting and financial reporting needs.
  • Support finance leadership in delivering accurate financial information for leadership and investors.
  • Provide insights into accounting impacts of operational or strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • CPA (or equivalent professional certification) and/or accounting degree required.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong background in general accounting and close processes
  • Experience in multi-entity and global environments preferred.
  • Prior experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth company is a plus.
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IFRS 15 / deferred revenue accounting preferred.
  • Experience with US sales tax preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and process management skills.
