We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal
candidate will have 4-6 years of accounting experience, particularly in a BPO setting for a U.S.- based company. This role requires a strong understanding of Philippine tax and payroll regulations
to ensure compliance with local laws and supporting U.S. business operations. The Accountant will
be responsible for managing accounting functions, including tax calculations, payroll
processing, and financial reporting. This position is based on US ET time zone which is equivalent to
9PM-6AM PH time Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts
payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations. - Process payroll in accordance with Philippine tax and labor laws, ensuring accurate
deductions, contributions, and timely disbursements. - Prepare and file taxes, including withholding tax, VAT, and other statutory contributions, ensuring compliance with Philippine tax laws in coordination with the firms external
accountant. - Assist with the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements, ensuring timely and
accurate reporting. Manage accounts, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with U.S. accounting
principles and standards. - Coordinate with U.S. teams on financial matters, ensuring smooth financial operations
across different time zones. Handle year-end accounting tasks, including audit preparation and tax return filing. - Ensure compliance with Philippine tax and payroll regulations, maintaining up-to-date
knowledge of any changes or updates in legislation. - Collaborate with the management team to identify process improvements, streamline
accounting workflows, and improve efficiency. - Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation
is in order. - Other tasks as required by management such as but not limited to equipment inventory, occasional recruitment activities, and basic office management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 4-6 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with experience
in a BPO environment supporting U.S. businesses. - In-depth knowledge of Philippine tax laws, payroll requirements, and statutory compliance.
- Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in Quickbooks and MS Office particularly Excel.
- Proven ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Showing initiative in getting things
done is a key aspect t this position. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Having high-level accounting experience such as budgeting and forecasting is appreciated.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams in different time
zones. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. CPA or other relevant accounting certifications is a plus but not required. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and have the ability to work well with others.
