What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team at our corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a Senior Accountant at Ackermann Group, you will be responsible for managing and leading general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and other ad hoc analysis for a regional portfolio of commercial and multi-family real estate assets. The role provides financial leadership, direction, and problem-solving to the regional leadership team, collaborating effectively with regional operations leaders, property managers, and asset management. It is important that this role can envision what is needed bolster performance, forecast outcomes, and facilitate decision making with data and trends. Additional responsibilites include:

  • Oversee multi-property/entity General Ledger maintenance, including journal entries and cash receipts, identifying and correcting errors in coding or booking
  • Build rolling 12-month income and expense forecast for property portfolio according to commercial strategies and trends aligned with regional management.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities
  • Track and forecast multi-year capital projects and appropriations.
  • Communicate results, deviations, and indicated actions with regional leadership team and onsite property management.
  • Research and report on meaningful income/expense
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with individuals in all areas of the company.
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner at all Consistently maintains a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers, and the general public.

The ideal Senior Accountant will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Yardi) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
