Our Senior Accountant in India helps us oversee the daily accounting operations during US off hours, performs as a Financial Analyst (as needed), and is our problem solver supporting the Controller & Director of Accounting. This role coordinates daily accounting activities for all global operations, acts as the operational interface between accounting and other departments, assists with the financial portions of RFPs, performs account reconciliations and GL work, and ingests large amounts of data into the ERP for analysis. This is a multi-faceted role that provides a local resource for our India personnel and helps to create a seamless experience for all departments when interacting with accounting and finance!

Responsibilities

• The Senior Accountant provides critical accounting support to our global enterprise. This role will work GL entries and reconciliations for accounts such as payroll, accruals, and prepaids. Experience accounting for deferred revenue in a SaaS based company is a big plus.
• This role supports global accounting activities and helps to ensure our India resources for AP and AR have daily access to an accounting team member for work review and/or problem resolution. The AP team member handles bank reconciliations in addition to vendor payments and the AR role involves a very complex billing from contract process that requires extreme attention to detail.
• This role will help determine accounting treatment and classification for accounts such as Leave/PTO balances, benefits, and complex revenue streams. We seek a problem solver who can help move accounting work along when the US team is off shift!
• Our commission payment plan is complex and varies across multiple sales roles. The Senior Accountant will handle global commission calculations, which require ability to track and process payments across multiple types of compensation plans. This work requires close contact with AR regarding customer payments, ability to organize and track multiple commission scenarios, and an ability to quickly and accurately produce this work monthly for 4 different payroll cycles.
• Ad hoc project as assigned. This could be projects such as APAC corporate taxes, US 1099 work, EMEA VAT filings, stock rpeorting, audit support, and backing up operational activities.
• Ensure security, availability, and confidentiality of all sensitive data collected, processed, or stored by this position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA and/or Master’s degree a strong plus
• 5+ years international accounting experience including work with multiple currencies and international accounting regulations
• Exceptional communication skills; ability to work across multiple time zone and cultures; advanced problem solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and graphical representations and strong ERP system experience including configuration work (ours is NetSuite)
• Ability to create what we haven’t seen or done. As we rapidly grow around the globe, the ability to see problems before they arise and create solutions that are innovative and new will be critical in this role!
