Summary Description:
The Senior Staff Accountant supports the accounting and financial reporting functions by managing accounts payable activities, assisting with month-end close, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role ensures timely processing of invoices and payments, performs account reconciliations, and supports financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and company policies. The position works closely with the Sr. Accounting Manager and cross-functional finance teams to maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting processes.
Duties:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate accounting for assigned legal entities across multiple regions (U.S., Canada, Australia).
- Reconcile the accounts payable subledger to the general ledger.
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing and payment execution.
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
- Monitor accounts payable aging and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.
- Process supplier payments, including Single-Use Account payments where applicable.
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements and company credit card transactions.
- Track supplier credits and inventory-related invoices.
Compliance, Audit & Controls
- Assist with external audits and preparation of schedules for financial statement and 401(k) audits.
- Support 1099 tracking and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal control procedures.
- Assist with developing and updating accounting policies and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain fixed asset records and support fixed asset budgeting requests.
- Participate in treasury-related activities such as cash forecasting and cash account reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
- Support special projects and other finance initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Manufacturing industry or public accounting experience preferred.
Skills & Systems
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with general ledger management and account reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion Cloud preferred).
- Familiarity with SAP Concur or similar expense management systems.
