As J2 continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, general ledger management, and key accounting processes. This role will ensure financial accuracy, maintain compliance with GAAP, and partner with internal teams to support operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform month-end close activities including journal entries, revenue, COGS, and operating expense analysis.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is maintained.
• Review and analyze profit and loss statements to support financial accuracy and performance insights.
• Monitor inventory valuation and related general ledger activity, ensuring alignment with accounting policies.
• Maintain fixed asset records and manage the capital expenditure request process with operational stakeholders.
• Manage prepaid expenses and deposits, ensuring proper expense recognition and amortization.
• Maintain and evaluate inventory rebate models and related financial adjustments.
• Ensure proper application of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Maintain ASC 842 lease accounting, including reconciliation of building, fleet, forklift, and equipment leases.
• Support personal and real property tax reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Reconcile payroll-related benefits and liabilities.
• Review commission and bonus payouts compared to plan and accruals.
• Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including intercompany accounting and general ledger integration.
• Provide guidance to the Shared Services team on core accounting principles and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Work effectively with colleagues across finance, operations, and shared services.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 2+ years of general ledger or accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic SQL and/or Oracle NetSuite knowledge preferred.
