If you want your work to matter, and to be surrounded by smart, collaborative people who care about doing things the right way, you’ll feel at home here.

Who We Are:

PRIME AE Group, Inc. ( www.primeeng.com) is a nationally ranked, full-service architecture and engineering firm driven by collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. With a growing footprint of offices across the country and a diverse team of more than 550 professionals, we partner with public and private sector clients to deliver thoughtful, high-impact solutions across transportation, education, healthcare, municipal, federal, commercial, and recreational markets.

Our culture blends entrepreneurial energy with the resources of a scaled, multidisciplinary platform—giving our people the opportunity to shape meaningful projects while influencing the future direction of the firm. As PRIME AE continues to expand its capabilities, geographic reach, and leadership bench, this is an exciting time to join a team that is building momentum, investing in growth, and empowering leaders to make a lasting impact.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the organization’s financial operations through accurate reporting, financial analysis, and oversight of key accounting processes.

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records and supporting the monthly close process. You will work closely with internal departments including payroll, accounts payable, project accounting, and operations to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional with public accounting experience who is looking to transition into industry and take ownership of key financial reporting and close processes within a collaborative and growing organization.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and audit support. You will analyze financial results, maintain accurate account reconciliations, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and help drive the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Prepare schedules and documentation required for external audits.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external tax advisors, providing financial schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts through timely reconciliations and resolution of variances.
  • Partner cross-functionally with payroll, accounts payable, project accounting, and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with improving accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Support ad hoc financial reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience, preferably in audit.
  • CPA required or CPA candidate actively pursuing licensure.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Why PRIME AE:
