About the role:

RSM Albury are seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Accountant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

As a Senior Accountant, you will go beyond traditional number-crunching, providing valuable insights that help our clients thrive. In this role you will analyse financial information, prepare financial reports, and maintain meticulous records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities for the Firm’s clients.

You’ll also collaborate closely with our Partners and Director, while playing a key role in guiding and mentoring junior team members. We’re proud of our tight‑knit supportive culture, one that champions teamwork, celebrates wins, and supports your ongoing professional growth.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Prepare financial statements that comply with all current, legal and accounting reporting standards;
• Apply your knowledge of the clients business environment and industry positioning to deliver tailored advice;
• Prepare clear, concise and accurate work papers, that serve as evidence of work performed and the foundation for decision making;
• Supporting clients with everyday Xero enquiries and issues.
• Applies basic tax compliance procedures;
• Assists with tax planning for clients;
• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies & trusts;
• Completes requisite regulatory forms; and
• Complies with lodgement program by meeting lodgement dates and requirements.

About you:

To be considered for this position you will possess the following:

Essential

• Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
• 2+ years in a similar role;
• Strong communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; and

Desirable

• Completed or working towards CA or equivalent
• Previous experience of using Xero Software

Eligibility to work permanently in Australia is required for this role.
