Job Description
Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 annually.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Workplace Setting: Fully Onsite
The Senior Accountant is a highly accountable and results-oriented professional who is ready to hit the ground running by providing support to the organization’s Accounting department by managing daily accounting and finance tasks. The goal of this position is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the Accounting team while helping the Executive Team to understand the organization’s financial condition. This understanding allows the data-driven decisions to be made in order for the organization to accomplish long-term success and scalable growth. This individual will ensure that reports are accurate, mitigate risk, and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Within 30 Days:
- You have completed onboarding and developed a strong understanding of our systems (NetSuite, ARM, billing workflows), reporting structure, and month-end close process.
- You understand how revenue flows from Sales Order → Invoice → Deferred Revenue → Revenue Recognition and how reconciliations support accurate financial reporting.
Within 60 Days:
- You are independently owning several components of the month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation process.
- You are proactively identifying process gaps and bringing recommendations to leadership rather than waiting for issues to be escalated.
Within 90 Days:
- You are fully owning your areas of responsibility within the close process and operating as a strategic contributor to the accounting team.
- You demonstrate strong GAAP judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to connect financial activity to business impact.
OBJECTIVES
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all entries
- Work cross-departmentally to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data
- Manage and oversee accurate processing and recording of all financial transactions, including ledgers, general ledger, banking, revenue, billing, accounts payable, and fixed assets
- Ensures all Subsidiary accounts (assets, liabilities, revenue, expense) are reconciled and are in balance between related entities on a monthly basis
- Oversees performance of month-end close processes by Subsidiaries and ensures the preparation and submission of any required financial reports to support senior management teams of Subsidiary companies
- Prepare and analyze account reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain amortization schedules
- Regular review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance internal controls, and improve efficiency
- Act as Partnership Stakeholder when necessary
- Perform other accounting duties and support staff members as required
COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency in accounting systems and software (e.g., Excel, NetSuite, Great Plains, SAP)
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures (GAAP)
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate financial statements
- Understanding of how to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, document and research business transactions
- Demonstrate high level of attention to detail to avoid or catch potential errors across financial statements
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
- Knowledge of best practices for performing month-end closings
- Ability to track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules
- Ability to work with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS or equivalent in accounting or any related field
- 5+ years of experience in an Accounting management role
- Public accounting experience, preferably Big 4
- CPA is preferred but not required
