Job Title - Senior Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee accounting operations within a real estate development environment. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and effective financial controls while supporting management with timely and reliable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
Support preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor project costs, cash flow, and variances against budgets.
Provide cost analysis and financial insights for real estate development projects.
Compliance & Audit Management
Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
Maintain proper documentation and internal controls.
Taxation & Statutory Filings
Prepare and review VAT returns and ensure timely submission.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Liaise with tax consultants and authorities when required.
Project & Stakeholder Support
Work closely with project managers and commercial teams to track project financial performance.
Review contracts, payment schedules, and variations for financial accuracy.
Provide financial reports and analysis to management and stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Systems
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and ERP tools.
Ensure accurate financial data and reporting integrity.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
6–10 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or construction industries.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, VAT, and financial reporting.
Experience handling project-based accounting and cost tracking.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
