SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Responsible To: Accounting Manager
Responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; prepare and analyze budgets; and perform general bookkeeping.
Position Responsibilities/Standards:

- Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor
Specific Duties
- Prepares general ledger entries on a regular basis
- Assists in month end close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation
- Analyzes financial statement variances
- Monitors budget to actual results and works with department managers to understand reasons for variances
- Bank reconciliations
- Consolidated prepaid expense and accrued expense reconciliations
- Assist with all surgery center balance sheet reconciliations
- Assists with preparation of year-end close including direct communication with outside auditors
- Updates asset listings on a quarterly basis
- Compiles data and prepares various ad hoc reports
- Works with VP of Accounting and Accounting Manager on special projects, process improvements, system implementations and the like, as directed.
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Minimum one year of experience in accounting, audit, or finance.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and function independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to new processes and be flexible in day to day operations
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements for the position include the ability to frequently hear and communicate orally, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and/or feel objects. Must be able to climb, pull, push and kneel. Maximum unassisted lift = 25 lbs. Average lift less than 10 lbs.
