Howden Ireland are delighted to be seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Account Executive to join our growing Financial Lines team. This is a newly created role that will support the continued expansion of our Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors & Officers (D&O), Cyber, Crime and related Financial Lines insurance offering.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing and developing a portfolio of Financial Lines clients, delivering expert advice, negotiating competitive insurance solutions, and building strong insurer and client relationships. The role will involve both new business development and the management of existing client relationships, working closely with the Financial Lines Team Lead to drive growth and deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of Financial Lines clients across a broad range of industry sectors.

  • Provide specialist advice on Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Cyber, Crime, Employment Practices Liability and associated Financial Lines products.

  • Conduct client risk assessments and identify suitable insurance solutions based on individual business needs.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including company directors, senior management teams and professional service firms.

  • Deliver a high standard of technical and advisory support throughout the client lifecycle.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to generate new Financial Lines business.

  • Convert leads and referrals into profitable client relationships.

  • Support wider commercial teams in identifying Financial Lines cross-selling opportunities within existing client portfolios.

  • Participate in client meetings, presentations and tender opportunities.

  • Contribute to the achievement of team and business growth objectives.

  • Manage renewal negotiations and placement strategies to achieve optimal client outcomes.

  • Prepare market presentations and submissions for insurers.

  • Negotiate terms, conditions and premiums with insurer partners.

  • Review policy documentation to ensure accuracy and adequacy of cover.

  • Ensure all renewals are completed in accordance with regulatory and internal service standards.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with insurer partners operating within the Financial Lines market.

  • Maintain awareness of emerging market trends, coverage developments and underwriting appetite.

  • Act as a key point of contact between clients and insurers on complex Financial Lines matters.

  • Assist in identifying new insurer partnerships and product opportunities.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues across the wider commercial business.

  • Assist in the development of Financial Lines expertise within the organisation.

  • Support the Financial Lines Team Lead in the ongoing development of team processes, standards and service delivery.

  • Act as a mentor and technical resource for junior team members where required.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including the Consumer Protection Code, Central Bank of Ireland requirements and internal governance procedures.

  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.

  • Complete all required regulatory and compliance training.

  • Operate in accordance with company policies, procedures and professional standards.

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the insurance industry.

  • Strong experience handling Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers and/or Cyber insurance products.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage corporate and commercial client relationships.

  • Strong technical understanding of Financial Lines insurance products and policy wordings.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyse complex risks and provide practical insurance solutions.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.

  • CIP qualification as a minimum requirement.

  • Experience within a specialist Financial Lines team.

  • Exposure to professional services, technology, healthcare, construction or corporate clients.
