PR Senior Account Director - Melbourne

Having just been awarded AdNews PR Agency of the Year, we’re looking for a Consumer Senior Account Director from a PR agency background to join the growing, award-winning Havas Red team based in Melbourne.

This is a hands-on role — you will be deeply involved in day-to-day account delivery, media engagement, campaign execution and deliver strategic client counsel.

If you have experience working with leading brands and category innovators, with a curious creative eye, and want to work for an exciting mix of high-profile clients with dynamic campaigns, Havas Red is for you.

The role:

• Lead and actively manage a range of clients across both consumer and corporate spaces, predominately within automotive
• Lead the development of highly creative media relations and communications strategies, including driving proactive media pitching and senior media relationships
• Take independent ownership of campaigns, including daily delivery, quality control, approvals and operational problem-solving
• Manage daily operations: project management, timeline delivery, scoping, forecasting, capacity planning, invoicing, resource management and financial reporting
• Partner with Social, Strategy, Creative and Experiential teams to deliver integrated communications plans
• Manage a dynamic team of PR professionals to deliver great results
• Lead by example — combining team mentoring and development with hands-on contribution to outputs when needed

We are looking for:

• 7-8 years’ experience, within PR agencies
• An experienced, trusted partner to clients
• Natural mentor, with a high-energy, inspirational style
• Someone who enjoys being on the tools — writing, pitching, coordinating and engaging in day-to-day delivery
• Strong communications skills/ gravitas
• Sharp eye for what drives conversation and generates news/consumer editorial at scale
• Established relationships with national news, consumer and lifestyle media
• Passion for big ideas and innovative thinking
• High attention to detail with extensive operational experience
• Experience partnering with large multi-national brands
• Exposure to integrated agency teams ideal
• Solid commercial acumen, know how to be commercially accountable to business
• Previous automotive experience would be advantageous but is not essential
