SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

Senior Academic Services Officer (Academic and Student Affairs Section) (Two vacancies) (26270156)

The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full- and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors.

Responsibilities:

The appointees will be required to perform the following major duties at the Academic and Student Affairs Section of the School Registry:

Post 1

  • Students’ financial subsidies (CEF, FASP, NLSPS and ENLS, etc.);
  • Maintenance of SEN student records;
  • Certificate issuance and grade appeal matters;
  • Co-ordination of Commencement ceremony;
  • Handle scholarship-related matters, including organising the Scholarship and Award Presentation Ceremony;
  • Oversee issuance of student ID cards matters;
  • Provide secretarial support to committees/working groups; and
  • Handle students’ enquiries.

Post 2

  • Assist in the School-wide class and examination scheduling exercise (knowledge of “Infosilem Academic” and “Infosilem Exams” would be an added advantage);
  • Assist in the development and UAT for the new Student Information System;
  • Handle student records and compile statistics and reports;
  • Maintenance of student records, such as grade amendment and issuance of academic documents; and
  • Support the logistic arrangement of programme admission exercise.

Requirements

  • A recognised degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Competencies in using computer applications and analysis of statistical data are essential;
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and Chinese;
  • Organised, detail-minded and highly self-motivated, with good communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • Good team spirit with multi-tasking skills and be able to work independently.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
