About the Role:

Reporting into the NSW & ACT Heritage Manager, you will provide advice on Aboriginal heritage matters. This role requires strong experience in delivering heritage assessments, archaeological investigations, and evaluations to identify and assess the cultural significance of heritage sites, landscapes and archaeological remains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of projects which may include cultural heritage impact assessment, conservation, and policy
  • Conduct field surveys and investigations to document and assess cultural heritage and archaeological resources, using techniques such as archaeological excavation, archival research, field surveys, and remote sensing technologies
  • Evaluate the potential impacts of development projects on cultural heritage and archaeological resources, considering factors such as project design, construction activities, and potential changes to the landscape
  • Comply with relevant heritage and archaeological legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, planners, and heritage organisations
  • Develop strategies and measures to mitigate adverse impacts on cultural heritage and archaeological resources, such as archaeological excavations, monitoring, heritage interpretation, and community engagement programs
  • Prepare technical reports, assessments, and documentation summarizing their findings, recommendations, and proposed mitigation measures

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong stakeholder engagement, experience in providing advice and advocacy on heritage and archaeological matters to clients, government agencies and community groups, as well as the ability to prepare and review high quality technical reports.

About You:

  • A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology or related field
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience
  • Preferably experience in a consultancy environment
  • Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and associated regulations and guidelines, with experience in NSW highly regarded
  • Interest and experience with client relationship management
  • Australian Drivers licence (ideally with 4WD experience)

What We offer:
