The Sr. Designer will be entrusted with the responsibility of producing complex technical drawings and detailed plans that serve as essential guides in manufacturing and construction. Your expertise in CAD software will enable you to create intricate designs and provide critical support to engineers and architects. With a comprehensive understanding of drafting standards and design principles, you will ensure the accuracy and functionality of all drawings. Your role will also involve mentoring junior drafters, managing project timelines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of drafting procedures.

Responsibilities:

Technical Design and Drafting:
• Create detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and documentation
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop design solutions
• Stay updated on industry standards and technical advancements in drafting and design

Project Coordination:
• Assist project managers with project planning and scheduling
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to deadlines
• Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements
• Coordinate with other departments and disciplines to integrate design elements
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on drafting progress

Quality Assurance:
• Conduct quality checks on drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in drawings
• Review and update drafting standards and procedures
• Implement quality control measures to improve drafting processes
• Assist in the preparation of project deliverables, such as specifications and reports

Training and Mentoring:
• Train new drafters on company drafting standards and software
• Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced drafters
• Conduct training sessions on new drafting techniques and software updates
• Provide feedback and coaching to improve drafting skills
• Stay updated on industry trends and share knowledge with team members

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a specialized area, such as drafting or Engineering Technology or a related field with at least 4 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
• Experience with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and construction methods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage cross-functional relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certifications such as Certified Drafter (CD) or Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
