Fraunhofer HHI is a world leader in the research of mobile and optical communication networks and systems as well as video signal coding and data processing. In the field of photodetectors, HHI has a leading position worldwide. The dynamics of this field of technology opens up the scope for exciting scientific projects with a clear application perspective. Photodetectors developed at HHI can be found at the end of optical fibers, in scientific detectors (e.g. LIGO, ALMA), in satellites for communication with laser beams and recently also in quantum communication and sensor applications. The development of photodetectors combines photonics, radio frequency engineering and semiconductor physics, three exciting and dynamic areas of applied research. Be part of change

• Design of InP technology flows for modulators and detectors chips
• Scientific fabrication support of cleanroom staff
• Development of new fabrication processes
• Correlation of device performance with fabrication parameters

What you contribute

• Completed B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in microsystem technology or comparable
• Knowledge in the field of semiconductor technology
• Experience in semiconductor design and optics/photonics is an advantage
• Good spoken and written German is mandatory

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
