About the Role

As a Semiconductor Design Engineer, you will be responsible for modeling, designing, and characterizing advanced optoelectronic devices such as quantum-well-based lasers and modulators. You will play a key role in translating theoretical concepts into practical device designs while supporting verification, optimization, and performance improvements through modeling and laboratory validation.

Working across design, fabrication, and product development teams, you will help drive innovation in semiconductor photonics from concept to product realization.

Key Responsibilities

• Model and simulate advanced semiconductor optoelectronic devices, including quantum-well-based lasers and modulators.
• Develop numerical models to support device design optimization and performance prediction.
• Design dedicated test structures to extract critical material and device parameters.
• Define and develop test methods and characterization strategies for device verification.
• Analyze experimental results and feed findings back into the design process to enable continuous optimization.
• Contribute to next-generation device development.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• PhD, or MSc with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in:
• Semiconductor devices
• Optoelectronic devices
• Semiconductor physics
• Photonics engineering
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device operation and physics.
• Experience with numerical modeling and simulation of semiconductor or optoelectronic devices.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Technical Expertise

• Semiconductor materials and device physics
• Optoelectronic devices and technologies
• Numerical modeling and simulation
• Quantum-well-based device structures
• Semiconductor laser and modulator design
• Experimental characterization and device verification
