Join us and contribute to building a more inclusive future.The RoleGrizzlyTrek is seeking one Class 1 Semi-Vacuum Operator to join our valued client's team at a large SAGD Oil Sands site in Alberta. This is a full-time contract position with an immediate start, supporting a tank cleaning shutdown of two weeks or more in duration.
The successful candidate will operate a Class 1 semi-vacuum truck on site, working 12-hour shifts in a camp-based environment. Strong performance on this assignment may lead to consideration for future projects with GrizzlyTrek.What You'll Do

  • Operate a Class 1 semi-vacuum truck to perform tank cleaning operations safely and efficiently
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring equipment is in safe operating condition
  • Adhere to all site, client, and regulatory safety and environmental requirements
  • Communicate effectively with site supervisors, ground crews, and other operators
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, hours, and any incidents or near-misses
  • Support shutdown timelines and contribute to a productive, team-oriented work environment

What You Bring

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Proven experience operating a semi-vacuum truck, ideally within the oil sands industry
  • Current H2S Alive certification
  • Current Standard First Aid certification
  • Current Confined Space Entry certification
  • Current Fall Protection certification
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, hazard identification, and site-specific procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and live in camp for the duration of the project

Work Environment

  • Large SAGD Oil Sands site in Alberta with active industrial operations
  • Camp-based accommodations provided throughout the project
  • 12-hour shifts with the potential for overtime based on operational requirements
  • Outdoor and field conditions; appropriate PPE required at all times
